Privacy Policy

The short version

Finance Gate does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. The figures you type into our calculators never leave your browser. The only personal details we hold are the ones you send us yourself, plus ordinary analytics about how the site is used.

What we collect

We collect only what we need for the site to work and to know which guides are useful:

• Messages you send. If you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, chosen topic and message, so that we can reply.
• Usage data. Pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type, and how you arrived, collected through analytics.
• Server logs. Our host records IP addresses and requests for security and troubleshooting.

What our calculators do not collect

The income tax and money market calculators run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Income, deductions, balances and rates you enter are never transmitted to us, never written to our database, and are gone as soon as you close the tab.

Cookies and analytics

We use analytics to understand which content helps people. These services set cookies and may process data outside your country. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

How long we keep things

Contact messages are kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Analytics data is kept according to the provider retention settings. Server logs rotate on our host schedule.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Write to us and we will act on it.

Third parties

We use a hosting provider, an analytics provider and an email service to run this site. Each processes data on our behalf. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
